Tracking more bitter cold and a snow chance Monday
TONIGHT: Bitter cold temperatures continue tonight. Temperatures will fall into the upper single digits and low teens with wind chills between -5 and -10º.
MLK DAY: Temperatures will start out in the low teens and struggle to get to 20, much like Sunday. We're tracking a clipper system which will cruise southward into the late morning and afternoon. Light snow is possible, with a dusting to 1" of snow possible across mid-Missouri. While it won't be a lot of snow, due to very cold air temperatures/cold ground temperatures, snow will stick quickly to the roads leading to slick spots, especially into the evening. Be aware of this into the afternoon/evening. Main timeframe for snowfall will be from 9am to 3pm.
EXTENDED: Tuesday will feature a cold morning, but a more mild afternoon. We'll warm to near freezing. By Wednesday we're tracking our next storm system. Rain and snow are possible through Friday. Exact timing and precip amounts are still unclear. Temperatures will continue to rise near normal next weekend.
