Tracking heat coming to an end as we close the week

This Afternoon: A Weather Alert Day continues until 8 pm today due to the heat index climbing between 105-110 degrees across the region. Spotty afternoon storms are possible these remain very hit or miss with brief downpours and some gusty winds possible.

Tonight: Lows cool to the mid-70s as a cold front moves through Mid-Missouri. On-and-off storms are possible for parts of the overnight.

Extended: Scattered showers and storms continue into Saturday as the front pushes south. Rain chances look to drop into the second half of the weekend as temperatures drop as well. Highs cool to the upper 70s on Sunday before a dry next week into the lower 80s.
