2020’s first round of arctic air arrives to mid-Missouri Sunday

TONIGHT: It will be very cold overnight. Temperatures fall into the low teens. Wind chills will be between 0º and -5º by sunrise.

SUNDAY: Cold and breezy conditions all day. Wind chills will remain in the single digits all day as temperatures will struggle to get into the upper teens and low 20s. A few clouds are possible, otherwise we will remain sunny.

EXTENDED: Even colder air is set to build in Sunday night into Monday morning. Temperatures will fall into the single digits with wind chills between -5 and -15º Monday morning. A potent clipper system will drop south through the early afternoon which could bring a few snow showers. Widespread accumulation isn't expected at this time. Temperatures will slowly warm through Wednesday, back close to average before our next storm system moves in. Rain and snow are all possible, but it's too early to tell exactly how much of which. We'll keep an eye on that system.
