Extended: A Weather Alert Day has been extended throughout Friday afternoon lasting until 8 PM as the heat index looks to surpass the triple-digit threshold once again Thursday and Friday afternoons. A cold front moves into the area late Friday afternoon/ early evening leading to a significant cooldown this weekend with highs into the upper 80s Saturday and lower 80s Sunday into early portions of next week. A slight chance for spotty light showers exists during the day Sunday, but the forecast remains generally dry.
