Tracking continuing dangerous heat until this weekend

Today: Morning fog remains around much of Mid-Missouri until after 9 am when it begins to lift. Afternoon highs warm into the upper 90s with the heat index reaching between 110-115 degrees. Skies remain partly cloudy with winds out of the south at 5-10 mph.

Tonight: Overnight lows cool to the upper 70s with partly cloudy skies and the potential for fog once again. Winds remain out of the southwest at 5-10 mph.

Extended: The Weather Alert Day coverage extends until Thursday at 7 pm as heat index values look to surpass 100 degrees each day. Skies remain partly cloudy each afternoon. A cold front passes through the region late Friday afternoon/ evening bringing cooler temperatures into the upcoming weekend back into the mid to lower 80s.
