Tracking extreme heat settling in this weekend

TODAY: Our warmup gets underway today with winds out of the south around 5-10 mph. Highs reach the mid to upper 90s with the feels-like above 100 degrees for most of the area.

TOMORROW: Sunday will be the first day in a long stretch of summer heat this week. An ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day has been issued for the heat index soaring above 105 degrees areawide.

EXTENDED: Feels-like temperatures will be up to 105-110 every afternoon through Wednesday, and possibly into Thursday and Friday. Rain is not expected to return in the next 7 days, and may also be hard to come by in the following 7 days.
