A Holts Summit man is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from nursing home residents.

Garrison Roddy, 60, is charged with misappropriation of funds of elderly nursing home residents. He is not listed in Callaway County Jail online records. An initial court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8 at the Callaway County Courthouse.

The probable cause statement says Roddy defrauded one victim out of $14,227.50 from September 2020-July 2021. Roddy allegedly had access to, and received payments from, the victim’s checking account, which included Social Security payments, a pension, medical refunds and government stimulus checks.

Roddy also allegedly misappropriated funds of a victim from September 2020-July 2021. Roddy allegedly failed to  provide necessary documentation for the victim to be approved for Medicaid.

The monthly nursing bill was $6,355 – according to the probable cause statement – and made only four payments totaling $7,300. There was a past-due bill for $47,222 on July 27, 2021, the statement says.
