Columbia man charged in Dove Drive homicide has court date set
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia man accused in a June shooting on Dove Drive has more court dates scheduled.
Bryton S. Allen, 19, is charged with second-degree murder, armed-criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. He is being held in the Boone County Jail without bond. A hearing was held Friday and Allen did not appear as the arraignment was waived. A not-guilty plea was entered.
A status hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Boone County Courthouse.
He and several other men are accused in a shooting that killed 33-year-old Deshon J. Houston outside a home on Dove Drive.
Another man accused in the shooting, Damarkus Williams, 18, of Columbia, also had a court appearance earlier this week. Williams is charged with second-degree murder, armed-criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. He is also being held without bond at the Boone County Jail and has a hearing set for 8:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21.
Another Columbia man charged – Jajuan Crockett, 21 – is also held in the Boone County Jail without bond. He’s also charged with second-degree murder, armed-criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. A counsel status hearing is set for 9 a.m. Monday.
Police are still looking for four other men facing the same charges: Alqueze Jones, 19; Deljuan Turner, 19; Ja’shaun Barney, 18; and Deazes Turner, 21.
