Tracking storms tonight, and a drier Monday

TONIGHT: Storms redevelop tonight in moderately favorable conditions for severe storms. Given the potential, and overnight timing, we've issued an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day. Overall, the threat is low, but you may want to secure loose items before heading to bed. Some isolated strong to damaging winds are possible. Storms develop near KC, arriving in our western counties by 9-10 p.m. They will then spread southeast overnight, exiting the other side of I-44 by 2-3 a.m.

TOMORROW: Chances for rain on Monday remain low, and severe chances do too. Some showers and weak storms are possible north of I-70, with emphasis near Mark Twain Lake from sunrise to mid-morning. Otherwise, it's a mostly dry day, with highs reaching upper 80s in the north, and low 90s along and south of I-70.

EXTENDED: Better chances for showers and storms return on Tuesday, with highs remaining near 90. We'll then watch for a round of showers and storms from Wednesday night through Thursday morning. Both days will see highs in the low 90s. Temperatures near 90 continue into the weekend, with generally dry conditions expected, until better rain chances return as soon as Sunday.
