Callaway County man arrested, charged after allegedly leading deputy on chase through Fulton

FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Williamsburg man was arrested Monday and charged with several felonies after leading a deputy on a chase throughout Fulton.

Scott Leslie Allen, 58, is charged with resisting arrest by fleeing, resisting with an arrest for a felony, driving while revoked, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and speeding, a misdemeanor.

He is being held at the Callaway County Jail without bond.

A Callaway County Sheriff’s deputy observed Allen on Highway 54 and followed him to verify his license was revoked, according to the probable cause statement. Once verified, the deputy attempted a traffic stop near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Westminster Avenue.

Allen did not stop and a chased ensued through Downtown Fulton, according to the probable cause statement. The chase eventually made its way onto Route Z and then Route JJ. Law enforcement set up spikes at the intersection of Route JJ and Highway 122, the probable cause statement says.

After going through the intersection Allen’s vehicle slowed down and stooped near the Route JJ and Highway 123, according to the probable cause statement. Allen got out of the vehicle and tried to run away, but the deputy used a Taser and took Allen into custody, the statement says.

The deputy allegedly saw something drop out of Allen’s pocket and found drugs that tested positive for methamphetamine and Oxycodone, the statement says.

Allen allegedly told the deputy that tried to run away because he did not have a license.
