Tracking a hot Tuesday before storms Wednesday
Today: Afternoon highs climb into the upper 90s as the heat index reaches up towards 100 degrees. Skies remain partly cloudy with winds out of the southwest at 8-12 mph.
Tonight: Overnight lows cool to the lower 70s with partly cloudy skies and winds out of the southwest at 10-15 mph.
Extended: A Weather Alert Day has been issued for Wednesday lasting through 2 AM Thursday morning as chances of strong to severe storms remain possible. Early Wednesday morning, there is a possibility of a few scattered showers and storms. These will be very hit or miss and could effect the severity of the secondary storms during the afternoon/ overnight hours. If there is little in terms of morning showers and storms, strong to severe storms develop after 4 PM lasting throughout the overnight hours. Winds up to 70 mph, hail up to 1" in diameter, and strong downpours remain the main threats.
