Two charged in Dove Drive shooting appear in court Thursday

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two Columbia men accused in a June 26 homicide on Dove Drive appeared in court Thursday.

Bryton Allen, 19, and Jajuan Crockett, 21 had a confined docket hearing scheduled Thursday at the Boone County Courthouse. A preliminary hearing for Allen is set for 9 a.m. Thursday, July 20, and Crockett's is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 25.

Both are charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal and unlawful use of a weapon in the shooting death of 33-year-old Deshon J. Houston outside a home on Dove Drive. They are being held without bond at the Boone County Jail.

A third person, Damarkus Williams, 18, has a bond hearing set for 1 p.m. Tuesday. He is facing the same three charges. He is also being held at the Boone County Jail.

The Columbia Police Department announced on Wednesday that it is searching for four other men allegedly connected to the shooting.

 CPD is searching for:

  • Alqueze Jones, 19
  • Deljuan Turner, 19
  • Ja’shaun Barney, 18
  • Deazes Turner, 21

All four Columbia men are also charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal and unlawful use of a weapon.
