Tracking thunderstorms with severe possibility through the evening and overnight hours
TONIGHT: I'm tracking two rounds of storms with severe possibilities, the first being in the early to mid afternoon hours, and the second moving in the evening/overnight hours ahead of a cold front. Because of this, we are currently under a Weather Alert Day until threats have dissipated. The main threat with both of these systems are going to be strong winds and large hail stones. There is also a very slim possibility for an isolated tornado, but the atmosphere and systems themselves are not favorable for this chance.
TOMORROW: We'll see the last of the storm and shower chances exit by late morning, and because of the cold front passing through tonight, mid-Missouri will see slightly cooler temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. By the afternoon hours, expect drier conditions and cloud cover dissolving.
EXTENDED: As we get into Monday and Tuesday, temperatures will be working their way back up into the low to mid 90s. Monday is tracking to be one of our only days with little to no rain chances, and Tuesday, the 4th of July, could bring scattered storm chances. As of right now conditions are looking on the drier side for Independence Day, but that doesn't mean we see some rain showers spread through the day. Wednesday night through Thursday is our next best chance for showers and storm chances as another cold front pushes through mid-Missouri. This cold front will also bump our temperatures back down into the mid 80s to end the week.
