Ameren Missouri restores power in Moberly area

Ameren Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Close to 900 Ameren Missouri customers were without power in the Moberly area just before noon Thursday.

Fewer than 30 remained without electricity by 4 p.m. Another 22 were in the dark in Huntsville.

The utility reported 892 customers without power in 17 outages in the area at about 11:45 a.m.

An Ameren Missouri spokesperson said crews were working to restore power after it was knocked out by strong thunderstorms Thursday morning. It wasn't clear when power would be restored.

Storms were clearing out of the area by noon Thursday, leaving behind extreme heat and high humidity. The ABC 17 News Stormtrack Weather team expects temperatures to reach the triple digits this week.
