Human remains found on Missouri River island
SALINE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Mid-Missouri sheriff says human remains were found over the weekend on a Missouri River island in her county.
Saline County Sheriff Cindi Mullins in a news release Monday morning said the body was found Saturday evening. A deputy and Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers were sent to Hills Chute Island near Grand Pass and recovered the remains, the release says.
The remains were given to the Saline County coroner for an autopsy and other information was turned over to the patrol, the sheriff's department says. No other information was released.
