WASHINGTON (AP) — Some of the Republican Party’s most influential evangelical Christian figures have assembled in Washington to celebrate the upcoming anniversary of the Supreme Court ruling that overturned the constitutional right to abortion. At the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s annual conference, activists are urging Republican presidential candidates to push for more abortion restrictions. Democrats, on the other hand, insist the issue will help them going into the 2024 election. Donald Trump is set to give the keynote address Saturday night. Former Vice President Mike Pence led off candidates’ speeches, calling for a national ban on abortion at 15-weeks of pregnancy.
