6-year-old seriously hurt in Morgan County go-kart crash

MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 6-year-old boy from Stover was flown by helicopter to University Hospital after being seriously hurt in a go-kart crash Saturday evening.

According to the Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 5:17 p.m. on Marina Drive in Morgan County.

Troopers said, the 6-year-old was driving a 2022 Hammerhead Mudhead 208R go-kart that had a defect which made the brakes inoperable.

The go-kart then crossed Marina drive, went airborne, overturned and landed on its top, according to online crash reports.

Troopers say, the boy was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
