COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A teenager accused of shooting at another person outside a Rangeline Street strip mall in March will not be tried as an adult, a judge ruled Friday.

Judge Tracy Gonzalez ruled that the 15-year-old boy would be committed to the Division of Youth Services until he is 18. He admitted to two counts of felony assault and one count of unlawful use of a weapon in a Boone County courtroom.

The teenager admitted to shooting at the victim but not to shooting the victim.

Three people suffered minor injuries.

A hearing for another teenager accused in a Columbia shooting, this one deadly, has been pushed back. A teenager detained on felony murder, robbery and armed criminal action charges after the killing on Tayside Circle in May will now take place July 7.
