QUESTION OF THE DAY: Are Missouri’s childcare regulations strong enough?
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A homicide case in Boone County has highlighted regulations on Missouri daycares.
An unlicensed daycare operator is accused of manslaughter in an infant's death. She was caring for 12 children, police say -- twice the number of children for which a license is required.
Missouri's rule of six is meant to accommodate large families but can lead to less enforcement. However, the accused woman apparently operated outside the regulatory framework.
