Jefferson City man charged after allegedly hitting woman with tequila bottle
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Jefferson City man has been charged with domestic assault and other felonies after allegedly hitting a woman in the head with a tequila bottle and shoving another.
Marcus-Aaron Kopp, 31, is charged with first-degree domestic assault, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of armed-criminal action and first-degree harassment. He is being held at the Cole County Jail without bond. An arraignment was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
There were two alleged victims who spoke with Jefferson City police, according to the probable cause statement. One victim, who was allegedly bleeding from their head, told police Kopp hit her in the head with a bottle and she was taken to an area hospital.
A second victim told police she was at Kopp’s residence and he had been drinking for several hours. She allegedly told police she heard the first victim and Kopp argue and tried to separate the two. Kopp allegedly walked both women into a wall while yelling at them and clinched his fists. The second victim then allegedly push Kopp off of her so she could leave and he allegedly pushed her into the other victim.
The second victim allegedly saw Kopp punch the other victim and tried to separate the two again. She heard a loud “thud” and saw a tequila bottle fall to the floor as the first victim began to scream, according to the probable cause statement..
Once the first victim was out of the residence, the second went back for belongings and Kopp allegedly threatened her with a knife, according to the probable cause statement.
