Shots fired at multiple Columbia scenes, police say
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Police say they found evidence of shots being fired in multiple places in central Columbia on Tuesday night.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired near Douglass Park around 10:30 p.m. Police put up crime scene tape and put down seven evidence markers on Fifth Street. ABC 17 News also observed two evidence markers and several officers near Lyon Street and Circus Avenue.
Police say no arrests were made in the shooting.
Around the same time, there was also a police presence near the East Campus neighborhood. Several patrol cars blocked the road near Cliff Drive and Rockhill Road. ABC 17 News saw a K-9 unit arrive in the area and search through nearby woods.
Officers left the scene around 12:15 a.m.
Police said later that the two scenes were related. Officers saw a vehicle leaving the Providence Road scene and the driver of the same vehicle bailed and ran after stopping on Cliff Drive, a Columbia Police Department spokeswoman said.
No injuries have been reported.
