Fulton leaders celebrate new bridge

FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

Fulton leaders celebrated the opening of a new bridge Friday morning on Second Street.

City leaders met on the bridge for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and thanked the community for being patient during the bridge construction.

The city says crews began working on the bridge in March.

The construction cost around $1.5 million and was funded through a federal grant along with some money from the city.

Fulton mayor Steve Meyers said he's glad the bridge is open and the city is already looking to improve other areas.

The city says while the bridge is open for traffic. Crews still have some small finishing touches to complete by the end of summer.
