A Morgan County Sheriff’s deputy pleaded guilty Tuesday to misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent matter while causing an accident.

Justin Dills, 29, was fined $130.50 plus court costs, totaling $250. Missouri POST records show that Justin W. Dills has a valid Class A license and he is currently commissioned by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, according to a Missouri Department of Public Safety spokesman. He is also listed on the deputy roster on the sheriff’s website.

Dills was involved in a crash on Dec. 3 in Morgan County on Missouri 135 just north of Blackberry Patch Road. He was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado when he entered the roadway and hit a 2004 Subaru Foster driven by Justin Schultz, 38, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

Schultz suffered moderate injuries in the crash and was brought to Lake Regional Hospital by ambulance.
