Mizzou Athletics announces 2023 Hall of Fame class
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
There will be six new members of the Mizzou Athletics Hall of Fame, after the department announced the 2023 class on Friday.

- Karissa Schweizer - Cross Country/Track and Field
- Nick Adcock - Track and Field
- Drake Houdashelt - Wrestling
- Tim Jamieson - Baseball
- Fabian Schwingenschlogl - Swimming and Diving
Gage spent most of his athletic career in Mid-Missouri, as the former football standout grew up in Jefferson City. He came to MU as a highly touted quarterback from the Jeff City Jays, but switched over to wide receiver in the 2000 season. That same year, he was named an honorable mention All-Big 12 choice after catching 44 passes.
Over the course of Gage's next two seasons in Columbia, he was a top target on the Tiger squad. He ended his Mizzou career holding program records in both receiving yards and receptions and actually still ranks second in program history in receiving yards and third in receptions to this day.
Gage went on to play in the NFL for eight seasons.
Schweizer cemented herself as the best runner in Mizzou history in her time in Columbia. She won six individual national championships, which is the most by any MU athlete. Schweizer was also a four-time SEC Champion, winning the Tigers' first cross country national championship in 2016. She followed up that historic title with national championships on the track in the indoor 3,000 meters in 2018, 5,000 meters in 2017 and 2018 and the 5,000 meters in 2017 and 2018
Schweizer earned all-America honors 10 times in her Tiger career, as well, which is tied for the Mizzou lead all-time.
Adcock also made his name on the Mizzou track. The multi-event athlete qualified for five NCAA National Championships and also earned all-America honors at each one as a heptathlete/decathlete. He captured the Big 12 Conference championship in both 2008 and 2010 heptathlons, as well asa league title in the 2010 decathlon. He left Columbia with quite a few school records, including points in the heptathlon, 60-meter hurdles and stands third all-time in MU history in the decathlon.
Houdashelt was the fifth individual and sixth overall national champion in Mizzou wrestling history. The Missouri-native was a four-time conference champion in his time in Columbia, which made him the first wrestler in Tiger history to accomplish that feat.
Jamieson was at the helm of Mizzou baseball for 22 years, 1995 to 2016, and, in that time, helped develop some of the nation's best pitchers in his baseball career, including Mizzou legend and Cy Young award winner Max Scherzer. His career record of 698-565-2, which is only second to his former boss, Gene McArtor.
Jamieson took MU to the Big Eight Conference Championship in 1996, completing a worst-to-first turnaround that season with the first Big Eight title in team history. In 2012, The Tigers won the Big 12 Conference Tournament championship, as well. He took nine Mizzou teams to the NCAA Tournament, including seven-straight appearances from 2003 to 2009.
Last but certainly not least, Schwingenschlogl only spent two season at Mizzou, after transferring from Western Kentucky, but he made the most of it. He earned all-America swimming honors nine times and, in 2016, won MU's first NCAA individual championship in the 100-meter breaststroke.
The class of 2023 will officially be inducted into the hall of fame on Friday, Sept. 8, 2023 at Jesse Auditorium. The group of six will also be recognized on Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Mizzou football game versus Middle Tennessee State.
