Jury trial date set for man accused in MU hazing case
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A jury trial date has been set for one of the fraternity members accused in the alleged hazing incident that left Danny Santulli disabled.
Samuel Morrison, 23, is charged with hazing – life endangerment. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11 at the Boone County Courthouse. The jury trial is set for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26. Morrison recently appeared in court Monday.
A number of Fiji members have taken plea deals recently.
- Harrison Reichman, 21, of Kansas City, pleaded guilty on Monday to giving alcohol to a minor. He was initially charged with hazing – life endangerment. He was sentenced to two years of unsupervised probation, along with 100 hours of community services and 15 days of shock jail time.
- Thomas A. Shultz, of Chesterfield, Missouri, pleaded guilty to supplying alcohol to a minor. He was sentenced to a year of probation and 30 days of shock jail time.
- Alec Bradley Wetzler, 21, of St. Louis, also pleaded guilty last month to supplying liquor to a minor and buying liquor as a minor, both misdemeanors. A sentencing hearing is set for 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 6.
Santulli in 2021 was allegedly forced to drink large amounts of vodka, and then was taken to a hospital in a private car after he became unresponsive. Santulli was left unable to walk, talk or see after the incident.
