Memorial Day weekend travel forecast
Memorial day is fast approaching as millions across the nation will be looking to traveling ahead of the holiday weekend. If you are planning on traveling out of state, here is how things might be shaping up at your destinations.
Heading into Friday afternoon, the Great Lake Region looks to see drier and cooler conditions thanks to a high pressure system sinking to the south. The Rocky mountains to the west of Denver Colorado look to see showers and storms as a dry line extends to the south ahead of a low pressure system to the west of the Dakotas'.
Heading into Saturday, much of Western Texas welcomes an increase in showers and storms along with the Carolinas as a separate low pressure systems pulls moisture from the east affecting much of the southeastern portion of the United States.
By Memorial Day Monday, showers and storms will develop along a line extending from Minnesota southwest to Eastern Texas. The Great Lake Region remains dry as a high pressure system remains overhead.
If you are planning on a shorter trip down to the Lake of the Ozark's this Saturday, temperatures will remain into the upper 70s and even top out into the lower 80s nearing 4 PM. Skies remain mostly sunny with lower levels of humidity.
