One of three people charged with murder in Columbia drug overdose death is in Boone County Jail
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A man who was allegedly involved in a December 2021 fentanyl overdose death is now in the Boone County Jail.
Nicholas B. Grathwohl, of Columbia is charged with second-degree murder and drug distribution for the Dec. 26 2021 death of a person who name is redacted in court documents.
Grathwohl was booked in the Boone County Jail Saturday morning. His bond is set at $250,000 cash only.
Two others, Johnathan G. Shelley and Jeanne M. Hovis are also charged with second-degree murder and drug distribution for their alleged involvement in the overdose death.
As of Sunday morning, Shelley and Hovis were not in the Boone County Jail.
A probably cause statement says, Shelley was with the overdose victim, whom police found lying unresponsive in a bathtub. Another statement says Hovis arranged the purchase of crack cocaine and fentanyl, which was delivered by Grathwohl, the night of the overdose.
A fourth person, Nathaniel A. Cross, also of Columbia is charged with drug distribution only.
