COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County has announced a new online service for couples wishing to apply for a marriage license, according to a press release.

Couples can now fill out an online application prior to visiting the Recorder's office to complete the application process. Previously, all applications were completed in person.

Couples can apply for their marriage license online by submitting the form at marriage.boonemo.org, before visiting the Recorder’s office to finish the application and receive their license, the release states.

Those who choose not to apply online should visit the office in person to submit their application. The office is located on the first floor of the Boone County Government Center and is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekdays

"I'm excited to offer this additional service to the citizens of Boone County," Boone County Recorder of Deeds Bob Nolte said in a press release. "The ability to start the marriage license application online will make interactions with our office easier and more convenient. I look forward to providing additional enhancements to the online services offered by my office."
