A Moberly man has been charged after allegedly trying to film a child while they were showering with a hidden camera.

Jeremy Judd, 52, is charged with attempted sexual exploitation of a minor child. He was arrested and booked into the Boone County Jail on Saturday, but was released on bond. His bond was set at $15,000. A court date has not been set.

A 13-year-old found a camera in their shower in March and showed their mother, who assumed Judd placed it there. The child was the only person to use that specific shower, according to the probable cause statement. The woman confronted Judd, who allegedly did not deny placing the 1-inch-by-1-inch camera.

The mother allegedly told police that Judd said the videos were “self-contained” and that he didn’t get and “data” yet, according to the statement.

Boone County Cyber Crimes Task Force conducted a preliminary analysis on the micro SD card of the camera. A video allegedly showed a male subject placing the camera in the bathroom, though the man’s face was not clear, according to the statement. There were also allegedly videos and images that showed the front of a blue semi-truck. The probable cause statement says Judd is a truck driver and drives a blue truck.

The analysis indicated that the micro SD card did not contain images or videos of minors, according to the statement.

Law enforcement allegedly talked with Judd through text message and phone calls and he allegedly did not deny placing the camera in the shower.
