Naloxone education and distribution event to be held Wednesday at Columbia/Boone County PHHS

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services will be hosting a naloxone education and distribution event Wednesday, according to a release from the city.

The event will be 12:15-1 p.m. Wednesday at the PHHS building at 1005 West Worley Street.

The event is part of a monthly series of that features education and training on the use of Naloxone, also known as NARCAN, a drug that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. The training will include recognizing the signs of an opioid overdose as well as explanation of how to use and access NARCAN nasal spray, according to the release. 

Participants will receive a free box of NARCAN and no registration is required, according to the press release.
