Tracking isolated storms into a muggy weekend

TODAY: Isolated afternoon storms are possible but will be lacking a trigger mechanism. If we see late afternoon storms, they will have severe potential, with hail and damaging winds being concerns. TONIGHT: Overnight a weakening line of storms may move into the region after midnight, leaving us with a line of decaying showers and storms. This round likely is not severe, but may bring thunder and lightning.

EXTENDED: Starting with temperatures in the upper 60s, and some wet ground from overnight, Saturday will have a truly summer-like feel. Dewpoints will sit in the mid-60s for many, as we climb to near 90, meaning we may feel more like low 90s at times. Given a similar airmass to Friday, expect potential for storms to develop on Saturday, but they will still likely be isolated, leaving plenty of dry time. Scattered rain and thunder return on Sunday, as low pressure to our north collapses and gets pushed south. This may act as a focus for rain chances as it passes Sunday into Monday. Details on timing are still unclear, but this keeps rain chances in the forecast for Monday morning as well as a drop from the mid-to-upper 80s on Sunday, to the 70s on Monday. Expect a drier trend, and a cooler trend for early next week, with temperatures in the 70s and slim chances for rain.
