University of Missouri to hold several graduation ceremonies for class of 2023

COLUMBIA Mo. (KMIZ.)

After this weekend, thousands of Mizzou students will begin their next new chapter in their journey as spring commencements get underway at the University of Missouri.

The university says 6,019 students will be awarded degrees and honorary awards will be given to an accomplished orthopedic surgeon and a philanthropist.

This year alone, there are more than 900 online students in the class of 2023, according to the university.

"We couldn’t be more proud of our graduates, who have worked hard to reach this important milestone and are now ready for their life’s journey," said Mun Choi, President of the University of Missouri.

Out of the over 6,000 degrees to be awarded, over 4,000 of them will be bachelor’s degrees and a little over 1,100 will be master’s degrees.

Friday's ceremony schedule:

  • Master and Education Specialist - 1:00 p.m. - Mizzou Arena
  • Honors College - 2:00 p.m. - Jesse Auditorium
  • Graduate School- 4:00 p.m. - Mizzou Arena
  • Sinclair School of Nursing - 6:00 p.m. - Jesse Hall
  • The College of Business - 7:00 p.m. - Mizzou Arena
