Tracking a mostly dry Wednesday and greater rain chances the rest of the week

TODAY: After some received even more of that much needed rain last night, Wednesday is looking mostly dry. There is enough moisture available, that a pocket of weak instability may be able to develop a spot shower or storm this afternoon, but realistically it's a dry day. Clouds will be a mixed bag. We'll see pockets of sunshine here and there, but remnant clouds from last night's activity will leave us with some low clouds and a lot of high clouds. This keeps us partly to mostly cloudy through the day, but keep the sunglasses handy. Winds from the southeast, a warm start, and patchy sunshine should be enough to get us just into the low 80s.

TONIGHT: Winds turn a bit more from the south as a warm front approaches and lifts through the region. This will bring showers as soon midnight for some near I-44, before spreading north throughout the morning Thursday. Temperatures fall only into the 60s.

EXTENDED: Showers are widespread through the morning, becoming thunderstorms by Thursday afternoon. Severe storms will likely be ongoing through central Kansas, weakening as they make their way to us by late Thursday night. Friday, storms will fire again locally, bringing a slim chance for a strong storm or two. Another day of scattered storm chances pops up Saturday, but some time Saturday night or Sunday, a cold front will move through bringing another round of rain, but also an end to this chance for storms and high temperatures in the 80s each day. Monday brings dry weather and a high in the 70s.
