Tracking lighter winds tomorrow, rain returning at the end of the week

TONIGHT: Mostly clear with lows in the upper 30s to around 40.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and much less windy with high pressure overhead. Highs in the upper 60s to around 70.

EXTENDED: Thursday morning won't be as cold as high pressure slides to the south, but I'm tracking a disturbance ahead of a warm front that will get amplified by strong low level southwest winds. That will bring rain and a few storms to Mid-Missouri by Thursday afternoon, with showers and storms continuing into much of Friday. The warm front looks to stall across southwest Missouri on Saturday, with much of the region dry and warmer with southwesterly winds pushing us into the upper 70s. The front begins to lift north on Sunday, bringing temperatures up to about 80 along with a shower or storm by late afternoon. As that system slowly works across the region, we can expect warmer than average temperatures in the low to mid-80s early next week, with a chance for showers and storms Monday and Tuesday.
