Patchy fog expected Tuesday morning, afternoon warm up
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and chilly. Lows in the upper 30s. Patchy fog develops before dawn.
TUESDAY: Foggy morning followed by decreasing clouds. Highs in the upper 40s to near 50.
EXTENDED: A weak cold front brings a quick disturbance across Missouri Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing a chance of showers though early afternoon Wednesday. Temperatures remain in the 50s during the afternoon. We'll feel the effects of the front on Thursday as temperatures drop into the upper 30s to near 40 for highs. By Thursday night, our next potent storm system takes shape over the region, and with precipitation moving in late, it could start out as a wintry mix before sunrise Friday. As temperatures warm into the upper 40s, precipitation will be mostly rain during the day. This system will bring the threat of more widespread heavy rain, with amounts in the 1-2" range for Mid-Missouri. Low temperatures Saturday morning will be in the upper 20s, so any lingering precipitation would likely end as light snow showers. Right now, heavy rain will be the main impact with this system.
