Tracking gusty winds and cooler temperatures to start next week

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and breezy with lows near 40.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and breezy with gusts up to 30 mph. Highs in the lower 60s.

EXTENDED: We can expect more sunshine on Monday as low pressure slowly tries to work out of the Great Lakes region, but temperatures will still be cooler than average as strong northwest winds continue. High pressure holds across the Plains through mid-late week, keeping us free from rain. Temperatures begin to warm up between Wednesday and Thursday as warm front lifts through the region, bringing us back into the low 70s. This front looks to stall out and be a focus for showers between late Wednesday night and Friday night. Rain diminishes for Saturday as the front exits, allowing temperatures to warm back into the mid-70s. Another system approaches from the west on Sunday, bringing a chance for showers and thunderstorms by evening. Rain amounts for the week will be in the 0.5" to 1" range, putting a small dent in our rain deficit across Mid-Missouri.
