CALIFORNIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two California, Missouri, residents suffered injuries in a Tuesday afternoon crash on Highway 50 at Flag Spring Road.

The crash occurred as a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado – driven by a 16-year-old boy from Latham -- was attempting to cross Highway 50, from Business 50 to Flag Spring Road, and a 2008 Ford Taurus X was heading east on Highway 50, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The Ford was driven by Raymond Bishop, 80.

The teenaged driver did not see the Ford and began to cross the highway. Bishop did not have time to react, causing the Ford to hit the passenger side of the Chevrolet, according to the crash report.

The Chevrolet went off the road and stopped in grass. The Ford spun clockwise and stopped on Flag Spring Road, facing west.

Raymond Bishop had moderate injuries, and his passenger, Jane Bishop, 74, suffered serious injuries. Both were taken to Capital Region Hospital by ambulance, according to the crash report.

Both vehicles were totaled. All three people in the crash were wearing seatbelts.
