COLLEGE STATION, Tx. (KMIZ)
After being outscored 26-6 in the first two game of the series, Mizzou baseball avoided the sweep against Texas A&M with a series finale win on Saturday 13-5.
The Tigers started the game hot with four first inning runs credit to a solo home run from Luke Mann and a three-run shot from Battle alum Tre Morris. Mizzou also had four runs in the seventh inning to seal the deal.
Mann had himself a day at the plate going three-for-four with two homers and seven total runs brought in. Morris added three RBI's in his one-for-two day and Matt Garcia went two-for-four with an RBI.
On the mound, Chandler Murphy pitched nearly five innings for the Tigers giving up four runs on seven hits and grabbing four strikeouts. Austin Troesser came in for relief allowing just one hit in his three innings pitched and also picked up four strikeouts.
With the win, MU is now 22-13 on the year and 5-10 in the SEC. Up next, the team will be back at home Tuesday for a rematch with Missouri State at 6 p.m.
