Cause of Ozarks Amphitheater fire under investigation
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Officials are trying to determine what caused a fire that heavily damaged the concession stand and office building at the Ozarks Amphitheater in Camdenton.
Firefighters were called to the venue at about 10 p.m. Thursday, the Mid-County Fire Protection District said in a news release. The roof had already collapsed by that time and firefighters had to work from the outside of the building, according to the release.
The fire district said the fire was under control in about 45 minutes.
The building had major damage on the first and second floors. A basement maintenance garage had water damage from the response to the fire.
Firefighters were at the scene until nearly 2 a.m. and planned to return multiple times Friday to check for hot spots.
The venue posted on Facebook that it plans to still hold its next show -- Breaking Benjamin and Bush on May 11.
