Teen hurt in crash on Highway 63

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia teenager suffered moderate injuries after crashing into the back of a trailer Thursday on Highway 63, shutting down a lane of the highway.

The unidentified 16-year-old boy driving a Toyota Corolla rear-ended a trailer being towed by a truck on Highway 63 north of Columbia at about 4 p.m., according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash report.

An ambulance took the boy to University Hospital.

The truck driver was not injured.

Emergency dispatchers sent out a public alert about the crash near 63 and Calvert Hill Road at about 4 p.m.

The closed lane was reopened before 5 p.m.
