Cardinals down Rockies to secure series win
DENVER, Co. (KMIZ)
After losing the first game of the series, the St. Louis Cardinals won the next two to secure the series win in Colorado. In the final game on Wednesday, the Red Birds won 7-4.
The two teams headed into the eighth inning tied up at four runs each, but some late offense from the Cardinals put the game away.
The Nolan's led things in the batters box with both Nolan Arenado and Nolan Gorman going one-for-four with two RBI's. Paul Goldschmidt and Tyler O'Neill both went two-for-four and each brought in a run.
On the mound, Jack Flaherty got the start pitching a little over five innings giving up just one earned run and five hits, plus recording six strikeouts.
The Cardinals are now 5-7 on the season. Up next, the team will return home Thursday to start up a four-game series at Busch Stadium against the Pirates. Game one will kick off Thursday at 6:45 p.m.
