Columbia polling place lockdown caused by man with knife in area
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia polling location was shut down briefly Tuesday while police dealt with a man with a knife who had hurt another person nearby, according to police.
The Boone County Clerk's Office shut down the polls at Forum Christian Church for about 20 minutes for unspecified police activity in the area. The office said the incident police were dealing with did not happen at the church.
A Columbia Police Department spokesman said officers were called to the 4600 block of Westfield Lane for a fight with a knife at about 1 p.m. A woman suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, he said.
Police did not release the suspect's name.
