Tracking the exit of storms, a break from the heat, and a tranquil week ahead
TODAY: Wednesday is starting active with severe thunderstorms on the board as I write this. These storms will exit east along a cold front that will bring us sunshine, and cool air by this afternoon. Expect storms to exit the region by 7 a.m., with lingering cloud cover clearing by the afternoon. Temperatures top out in the mid-50s thanks to a northwest breeze sustained around 10-20 mph.
TONIGHT: Winds relax this evening as high pressure inches in from the west. This, however, will drop temperatures more efficiently through early Thursday morning. Some may wake up to frost early Thursday morning.
EXTENDED: Speaking of Thursday, high pressure makes of a cool, but sunny one, with highs in the 50s. As we shift to the west side of high pressure, the return to southerly wind starts our next warm up. Expect sunshine, and 60s for Friday. We reach 70s by Saturday under sunny skies, with a slightly warmer day again on Sunday. Some extra clouds work in ahead of a shortwave that threatens to bring a few showers late Sunday night, but overall, Easter remains dry. It's back to mostly sunny skies in the forecast early next week, with upper level ridging keeping storm chances away and highs climbing to near 80 by Tuesday.
