No. 18 Kentucky clinches series in shut out win over Mizzou

LEXINGTON, Ky. (KMIZ)

No. 18 Kentucky clinched the series over Mizzou baseball Saturday afternoon with a shut out 10-0 win.

The Tigers managed just five hits on the day, two of which came from leadoff batter Luke Mann. Trevor Austin, Tre Morris and Juju Stevens also got one hit each in the outing.

The Wildcats wasted no time getting going putting up four runs in the first inning and seven runs through two. They were led by Hunter Gilliam who went 3-for-5 with two RBI's and Emilien Pitre brought home a team-high three runs.

Zach Franklin started to game for MU giving up seven runs on seven hits. Daniel Wissler came in for three innings allowing one run and Nic Smith allowed two more.

The Tigers have now been outscored 22-2 in two game at Kentucky. With the loss, they fall to 19-8 on the season and 3-5 in the SEC.

The final game of the series will be played Sunday at 11 a.m.
