Kentucky run rules Mizzou baseball in series opener

LEXINGTON, Ky. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou baseball team couldn't find an answer for the Kentucky bats in Friday night's series opener, as UK run ruled MU 12-2.

Tiger pitcher Austin Troesser was charged with Mizzou's loss, dropping him to 2-2 on the season. In less than half an inning he allowed five earned runs on three hits.

Mizzou couldn't quite get going at the plate either. The team finished with four hits on the night. Both Helias alum Trevor Austin and Hank Zeisler drove in runs in the loss, but it was not enough for a series-opening win.

Up next - Mizzou and Kentucky will continue the series on Saturday in Lexington. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
