JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Department of Health and Senior Services issued licenses for 86 medical marijuana-infused products manufacturing facilities on Friday.

Medical marijuana-infused products are products meant for use other than smoking such as edibles, ointments, tinctures and concentrates, among other products.

The state health department approved eight facilities in Mid-Missouri:

  • Standard Wellness Missouri LLC approved for three facilities in Vandalia on Highway V
  • 1913 Holdings LLC approved for a facility in Vandalia on Lincoln Street
  • 1913 Holdings LLC approved for a facility in Waynesville on Tribune Street
  • Agri-Genesis LLC approved for a facility in Macon on Lake Street
  • Heya Excello MIP LLC approved for a facility in Excello on Highway C
  • Columbia Care MO LLC approved for a facility in Jefferson City on Militia Drive

Standard Wellness will house its infused product facility inside of its cultivation facility, which is also located in Vandalia.

A spokesman for the company said they are excited to get started.

"We look forward to providing our full line of all-natural medical marijuana remedies for Missouri's patient community and becoming an active member of the Vandalia community," said Brandon Lynaugh, director of external relations at Standard Wellness.

Standard Wellness is based in Ohio and has two growing operations outside of the state. The company operates a cultivation facility in Ohio and another in Utah.

Nine applications for facilities in Columbia were submitted, all of which were denied.

DHSS evaluated 423 manufacturing facility applications, according to the department's score sheet.

St. Charles-based Heya Wellness will operate a manufacturing facility off State Highway C in Excello, located in north Randolph County. Steve Meyer, CEO of Heya Wellness, said the team was excited to start several different businesses approved in the St. Louis area and northeast Missouri.

"We anticipate beginning operations in mid 2020 providing multiple employment opportunities in Excello, St. Ann and Kirksville," Meyer said.
