Mizzou baseball wins midweek home game against Lamar

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou baseball team claimed a 10-8 win Wednesday at Taylor Stadium to improve to 13-3 ahead of the start of SEC play.

The Tigers got off to a quick 4-0 lead in the first two innings credit to home runs from Hank Zeisler and Justin Colon. MU held a strong lead until giving up five runs in the seventh, but managed to stay on top.

Overall, Zeisler had a standout day at the plate going three-for-four with three total homeruns and five RBI's. Luke Mann followed with two RBI's.

On the mound, Logan Lunceford got the win allowing three hits and one earned run in four innings pitched and recording four strikeouts.

Up next - Mizzou will open up conference play with a three-game weekend series at Taylor Stadium against Tennessee. Game one will start Friday at 6 p.m.
