Mizzou baseball finishes sweep against Texas Southern

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou baseball team swept Texas Southern with a 15-7 win on Sunday afternoon. With the victory, the Tigers have won seven straight and improved to 9-2 this season.

Head coach Steve Bieser and company actually trailed the other Tigers by six runs heading into the fourth inning, but the group went on to score 11 unanswered runs over two innings. Luke Mann led the scoring attack for MU. He finished 3-for-5 on the day with a go-ahead three-run homer. That home run was a part of Mizzou's nine-run fourth inning.

Jackson Lovich also added some on. He went 3-for-5 and went just shy of hitting for the cycle in his first college start.

With the win, Mizzou is still unbeaten at home in 2023. The group is currently on their longest win strreak since claim seven straight from Feb. 21 to March 6, 2022.

Up next - Mizzou will continue the 13-game home stand with a 3 p.m. contest against Western Illinois.
