Jefferson City announces launch of parking app
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Jefferson City Department of Public Works announced in a Tuesday press release that the parking division has launched a mobile application that allows residents to pay for parking meters.
The application is called Passport Parking. It is available in Apple and Google Play app stores.
Users will be able to set up an account using a credit card for payment through the application. Once complete, parkers will be able to pay parking meter fees by using the zone number displaced on the parking meter. Once a parking session is started the user is also able to add parking time up to the maximum time permitted.
Users of the app will be charged convenience fee of $0.35 per parking session in addition to the normal parking hourly rate. Those not wishing to use the app may still feed the parking meters with coins as before, according to the release.
