Eli Drinkwitz gives an injury update ahead of Mizzou football’s spring camp
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou football coach Eli Drinkwitz said that two of his quarterbacks will be limited to start spring camp, but one of them should be able to participate in a fuller capacity by the weekend.

Brady Cook, the 2022 starter for MU, had shoulder surgery in December, after the team announced that he played most of the season with a torn labrum. Drinkwitz said he will be limited for spring camp, as he will participate in a non-throwing capacity.
Freshman quarterback Sam Horn will also be limited in the first spring practice. The dual-sport athlete sustained a forearm strain in a pitch he threw for the baseball team on Saturday. Drinkwitz added that the injury will keep him out of baseball longer than it will football.
"A forearm strain for a baseball pitcher is different than it would be for a football thrower. I think he's going to have to have an extended time off from baseball. I don't think he'll be throwing a baseball for next two, two and a half weeks," he said.
Horn splits his time between football and baseball at Mizzou. NCAA rules say that an athlete is allowed 20 hours of work per week, even if they play two sports. Drinkwitz said it's been a balancing act, but he's been impressed with how Horn has handled it so far.
"It's a real challenge," Drinkwitz said. "To be elite at both crafts is ver difficult on top of watching your weight. Sam's also a type one diabetic, so he has to monitor his blood sugar, which is something when he first got here was a challenge that we had to really work through."
Drinkwitz said he's excited about the depth he's added to his wide receiver room, as well. First-year offensive coordinator Kirby Moore is hoping to utilize some power five transfers to achieve a few goals: be more explosive, score more points and take care of the ball.
Mizzou will have its spring game on March 18 at Faurot Field. It starts at 11 a.m.
